DESCEND with CAUTION

...is a silly platformer about exploring the depths of a mountain

-----

Use the Arrow Keys or WASD to carefully descend, if you hit anything too hard you will die!

Use Z to toggle the CRT effect, and X to toggle the music (please consider leaving the music on, as I spend a lot of time on it)

All art, music, sound effects, code, and shaders were made by my within the 48 hour Compo period for Ludum Dare 57

Very cool game. Lots of small details. Plays interestingly, the author is awesome.

I love how each checkpoint taught me a skill I needed for the next one. Great platformer! It was right on the edge of frustration but didn't step over the line for me.

fyi 74 deaths 23 mins

honestly these controls are SO senstive i found it frustrating to play

Are you talking about the acceleration? I'd love some more feedback on what I can do to improve the movement!

i found a couple of interesting checkpoint skips (or bugs if you really dont want any skips), got 66 deaths and 13:06

Im fine with a few skips, nost of them require some knowledge of whats ahead, or a decent amount of skill to pull off

nice game, the last zone felt much easier than the middle

Nice game about descending carefully from high places.

This was a very fun game right in the goldilocks zone between being too hard and too easy for me. Finished in under 30 minutes.

if you put this guy and jump king into a room together, do they cancel each other out?

(very fun game, although I  didn't end up completing it due to finding it at the end of an all-nighter... I did find a potential bug in that if you pass a flag while going too fast, the flag won't register - though honestly you could tell me that was an intentional difficulty choice and I'd believe it)

Speed doesn't matter for touching the flags, but you do need to be on the ground for it to count when you touch it. I didn't want people to be able to cheese them too easily :)
